Skelanimals at Target

This Halloween, Target is featuring Skelanimals for Halloween. I am not the biggest fan of Skelanimals stuff, but it's cute in its weird little way for Halloween. And as always, Target has some fun stuff, and some fun decorations. Just like the did last year with Domo-kun, they are definitely making the Skelanimals stuff very prominent in the stores, it decorates all of the aisles where the Halloween merchandise is, and is the first thing you see walking into the store:

Here's the hanging decorations up near the registers:

I really love that cat, I wish they had more merchandise featuring that character - I am not sure I've even seen any...

Here's another hanging sign:

I like the giant lollipops!

This is the main display in the Halloween section. It's in the big open area with no aisles where the seasonal merchandise goes. It contains most, tho not nearly all, of the Skelanimals stuff. You can find more over by the candy. It is surrounded by the aisles of costumes and candy.

Oliver is the owl, I am not sure which one Timmy is? Maybe he is the spider, he seems to be featured the most in the decorations...

IMG_7154
You can get a Sekelanimals costume, tho I personally think they are a bit boring...

IMG_7562
...I'd much rather get this hoodie, because it is super-cute! (even if it wouldn't make a Halloween costume). In fact, I really should see if they have it in my size, tho I don't need any more hoodies... ;)

This section was still a bit understocked when I took this picture, but it later had some kids-size t-shirts in addition to what is pictured here.

Here's a better view of the little bag, which is cute. There were a few different styles available, with different characters.

This is a reusable canvas shopping bag type thing that you can get for $1.99 with purchase. It's cute, it's too bad it's the spider, as he is my least favorite...

IMG_7687
I'm not quite sure if these were stickers or temporary tattoos, but I think it is pretty funny they are calling them "Child Accessories"

Halloween basket. Cute!

IMG_7155
On the left is not the baskets, but actually some sort of pillow? I'm not sure I saw them again after this picture! On the right is some pumpkins you can plug in to light up for decoration. I don't think those would actually be all that exciting. They seem like they might not be very interesting in the dark...

Much cuter and more fun, I think, is the variety of stuffed animals they have. Plus, with stuffed animals, you don't have to put them away after Halloween if you don't want to! (well, I suppose you don't have to put any of your Halloween decorations awy if you don't want to, depending on what sort of decor you are going for! XD But the stuffed animals probably blend in a little better...). These big ones come in a coffin case, which is pretty cool and very in keeping with the theme, tho maybe not quite to my taste.

Or you can get them dressed up as trick-or-treaters, which is much cuter in my opinion! (Tho, truthfully, maybe more likely to need to wind up in storage until next Halloween...)

I don't recall if there were 3 or 4 designs. If there were 4 I missed getting a picture of one. Hm. I got the devil a number of times tho - he must like to be photographed! XD

IMG_7563
The Frankenstein one is my favorite of this series by far!

Then there are the slightly smaller trick-or-treat plushies, which are even cuter!
IMG_7160
I may have to break down on my plushie ban to buy the owl skeleton pirate! ^^;

That's most of the stuff over in the main section. Except for the really adorable vinyl figurines! I can't believe I didn't get any photos of those! I will have to go back and get some photos and I will add them here.

Moving away from the big Halloween display section, here's what they have over by the candy aisle:
IMG_7152
There are fruit-colored gummy skelanimals (hard to photograph), some more 'realistic' gummy skelanimals, spiral lollipops with skelanimals printed on the packaging, some candy necklaces and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting.

You can also buy candy in a variety of cute packages, such as this mug:

Or these cute pouches:

They'd be great for pencils or cosmetics. I use a lot of these little bags to keep things sorted in my handbag or backpack. They are very handy! I almost bought one, but... well, truthfully, I have a million already. Maybe if they end up in the clearance bin.

Last, but not least, we have these lunchboxes full of lollipops. I did buy one of these, tho I haven't the slightest idea what I will do with it! ^^; But they are the same price as the pencil case and I think the lunchbox seems like a better deal. Also, the lollipops sounded like a better candy option than the candy necklace type stuff you can get in the pouch.

Here's the lunchbox I bought:

This is the candy inside:
IMG7697
Kind of blah, actually, but you do get a bunch of them and I can give them out on Halloween. The loose candy in the pouch wouldn't be suitable for that.

I also couldn't resist buying a few other things - a mini tin:
IMG7698

The candy for this one is actually really cute! Experience with previous mini tin candy tells me it won't be tasty, but cute is important too... ;P

And then finally, I bought this keychain:
Oliver Keychain
Oh! I just realized as I was posting this - the back of the package names all the characters. So Timmy IS the spider!

I am using it to decorate my bag to stay in the Halloween spirit this month.
Current Purse

Can you tell who my favorite character is? XD

Oh, and I almost forgot - there are also tissue boxes featuring Skelanimals! That's kind of different, no?
Puffs

Skelanimals Puffs
Some of the designs are of the other (unnamed?) monster characters Target is featuring. I actually really like those boxes too. I should probably buy some, but we don't need any tissues right now, and I know from experience I won't want to throw them out, and then what? I have empty tissue boxes sitting around. *sigh*
Still, some of the boxes are lenticular (aka 3D/motion), which is really cool, and maybe I can just save that panel? Hm...

So, last year was domo-kun, and this year was skelanimals. Who do you suppose Target will feature next year for Halloween? I am not sure I can think of who else would be suitable in a similar way... Dunny? A newly designed character, like the sorta-Toki doki stuff they just did for back-to-school? Hello Kitty?!!! (Ok, I can wish, right? XD) I guess I have a long time to wait to find out...
