Pinky Overload!

The Pinky army has seen a surge in new recruits lately with the arrival of the latest 3 regular releases, Summer Sawako, the Summer Wars girl (earlier), and now Kobato. Kobato generated the most excitement for me, since I had ordered her so long ago and really had no idea when she was arriving. So I was really excited to finally see her in person! She also lucked out in that soon after her arrival there was a small carnival near where I worked, so I figured I'd use that to take some summery pictures. They didn't end up as perfect as I'd've liked, because I let it get a bit too dark while I was trying to find a good location, and I'm still getting the hang of my new camera. (Summer Sawako just arrived yesterday, so I haven't had time for her yet, and I was also pretty excited about the Summer Wars girl - because I loved that movie! - but I think I may have already posted her photos? The regular releases are yet-to-be-photographed. I can't keep up with everything I'd like to photograph! I think they may want to be indoor photos, because they seem like they need props, but those always take longer to set up)

Anyway, on with the pictures!

Kobato at the Carnival

Of course, for me, the point of a carnival is to look at the sights and to eat bad food - I am not a fan of rides! They scare me! Kobato's little blue dog was more interested in eating too:
"Mmmm... cheese fries..."

"Whoa. I don't know if I can eat all this..."

I haven't really read much of Kobato. It seems like it is probably not one of CLAMP's more interesting stories, but I am a huge fan of CLAMP's artwork. Everything they draw is so pretty! So Kobato is pretty for sure. I just don't really know much about the story or characters. So, for instance, I can't remember the name of her dog, tho I know he is not actually a dog. (or at least not a normal one!) Probably the fact that the Kobato Pinky is based on a CLAMP story is a large part of my excitement to have her!

Although I haven't had a lot of time lately to do a big mix and match swap out for my Pinky figures, I had to at least put her in one other outfit... I really wanted to put her in different hair, but I couldn't figure out how to pull her head apart. It seems like the hat does not come off, which is very disappointing. Reportedly, you can get the head out if you are careful to slip it out from between the hair pieces. I am a bit afraid to try, but I'm sure I will eventually. In the meantime, here she is in at least a slightly more 'casual' outfit...

That's all for now folks!
