New Liv Dolls at Target

I guess Liv dolls must've done ok last year, since Target has restocked them in a pretty big way! It looks like there are three different lines of stuff that are out for Liv this season: "It's My Nature", "Moonlight Dance", and "School's Out". I'm not sure I saw any dolls for the Nature set - tho there was a playset. "Moonlight Dance" is a Target exclusive, apparently. And then the "School's Out" dolls I think are probably the "basic" dolls.

Target changed up the display and got rid of the old 'dollhouse' display (which is sort of a shame. I liked that display. If you don't remember it, you can see a silly picture of it here.)
They replaced it with an elaborate (but kinda boring) display that shows each of the three lines.

The images are lenticular (3D) but they dont' do anything. When you push the button a little "radio play" can be heard, but nothing lights up or anything. It's pretty blah when it's compared to the Monster High display (more on that in the next post), but I don't know how much it matters. Does this stuff really influence purchase decisions? Clearly someone thinks it does or they wouldn't put them there (shelf space is expensive!) but I don't get it.

I don't know if I got a picture of all of the 'School's Out' dolls, but here's the ones I do have:







I like *elements* of all of the outfits, but none of the outfits overall. So I probably wont bother buying any, because Liv dolls are still pretty expensive if you are buying them just for the clothes!

Liv also has new outfit sets now, but I didn't get pictures of those. I like the outfit sets much better than the 'School's Out' dolls' outfits.

The 'Nature' series - as I said, I didn't see any dolls, but there is a playset. The theme is camping, which is fitting...





It looks pretty cute, but I also will not be picking this up either. It's a little too 'play' looking for photos.

Finally, we get to my favorite stuff - the "Moonlight Dance" Target exclusive. I think there are only 4 of these, and they look like they are dressed for the prom or something. As I mentioned in the previous post (about Moxie), there's some definite 80s influence going on with the Liv dolls. Esp. with the dresses! But somehow I don't mind it too much here...

I do want this one, I think it would look great on a lot of pullips!


This one is my second favorite, and I think I'd like to pick this up too.


Cute! Not sure on this one, but I like the shoes.


My least favorite of the three, because it's the most typical. Still a really nice dress though.

This may not be everything, the Targets here seem to be still trying to get everything on the shelves! And, as I said, I didn't get the outfit sets. I'll try to get pictures of those at some point!
