March of the red eyes
Once again, my desire to publish all of my good (or halfway good) photos here is probably taking something away from the photos that are the best, but I can't resist. If you want only the highlights, you can always just check flickr! Plus this way I get a marching closer to the camera effect! ^.^

New Clothes!
I forgot I never "published" these! They've been hanging out in draft mode for weeks now. oops.
When Bitter and Sweet arrived, everyone got to try on new clothes. The clothing pieces on these two were actually *far* more useful than I expected. They looked like you wouldn't be able to mix very well, but actually, they work great! The only thing that's not so hot is Bitter's little duck-butt skirt. It's pretty goofy-looking... :)
This is the second half of my scary waterfall photo shoot.
First up, Chun-li borrowed Bitter's hair. I think it looks really cute on her!
To be honest, I'm not in love with the way the bangs look, but it's nice to have some different colored hair. The boots, however, which I thought I would hate - I really like those!
Yoshiko got Sweet's headphones. These are really cute too. They definitely look good on her! Lisa doesn't actually have any of Bitter or Sweet's clothes, but she got some of the parts the other girls were "done with" and I actually really like this look on her!
I adore that last picture!
Hana did really well with the new parts too. I love little blonde Hana!!
And then we have Ten-chan modelling some of Sweet's parts. The sandals are great. But, surprisingly, the shirt isn't so bad either! It's a little odd, but it's actually sort of cute.
Finally we have Suu modelling Bitter's headphones. I forgot to bring her along to the waterfall shoot, so she's off at a slightly different locale...
And I have more photos stored up, so I really better start posting them!!

Bitter & Sweet Overload!
Recently I got the two DVD sets that came with Bitter (red-eyed) Saki and Sweet (blue-eyed) Saki. I haven't watched the dvds yet, and I'm not even sure if I'm going to be able to, since they aren't the right region for the US (I think they might play on my computer, but I'm not sure) but I have to admit, I don't really care about the dvds. I just wanted the two Sakis! I was thinking I might pass on them, since they were sort of weird, and definitely expensive, but in the end I can't resist any red-eyed Pinky, so I had to get Bitter. And then I figured I should really get Sweet too since it didn't make sense to get only the one. Ah, Pinky logic... :) Anyway, I'm very glad I did get them because they are terribly cute, and their clothes are actually more useful than I suspected. There's a couple of weird pieces (like Bitter's skirt) but almost everything else is very mix-and-matchable. I'll be posting some of that in the next photo set. Right here, however, is just far too many photos of Bitter & Sweet themselves!
I named Bitter "Beatrix" and Sweet "Fiona" because the nicknames "bee" and "fee" sounded like the "bee" from bitter and the "swee" from sweet. (Can you think of a name that begins with "swee"? I couldn't!) I ended up carting a whole bunch of girls around with me in Bitter & Sweet's clothes, along with Bee and Fee themselves, because I meant to take a photo of them during my lunch hour. Otherwise I frequently end up not having daylight hours to take photos in! I, uh, managed to get lost that day, however, while trying to get to this lunch place I'd been to once before. Aside from the fact that my lunch hour got a bit longer than I meant it to, it kind of turned out well, because I found this really cool waterfall to use as a background! Actually, it was a tiny bit creepy. The road ran over a bridge, and on one side there was this pretty little lake area. On the other side there was a waterfall and a river, but *that* side was all run down looking. Actually, it really wasn't *too* bad, but it didn't seem like a kept-up public area. So I sort of crept over there and hoped it wasn't a bad idea for any of a number of reasons that I could think of. It did make for some cool backgrounds, so it was worth the terror I felt having my Pinkys that close to running water that there was no way I could fish them out of!
In back of Beatrix is a fish ladder. When you dam up a river, environmental regulations frequently require you to install a fish ladder so that the fish can get around the dam. I think there was a sign saying what sort of fish the ladder was protecting, but I'm afraid I don't remember what kind they were now!

Supaakawaii
Not too long after I got back from Otakon, Inga held the second annual Supaakawaii contest. There were some great prizes provided by freebento.com, but I really just wanted to enter for the sake of entering. ...and maybe that was fortunate, since I didn't do very well! I was near the bottom of the results, actually. There was some really stiff competition, but I have to admit I was hoping to do a leeetle bit better! Ah well. Maybe it's because I suck at photoshop... ;)

Day 4
Finally, the last of the convention photos. Next, we will be on to something new!
Day 4 was the last day of our trip, and was another driving day. But before we hit the road there was time for some frantic last day shopping and sightseeing! First I made a hasty trip down to the end of the harbor area to see the carousel - the carousel is wooden and therefore historical, but it's not in the greatest condition anymore, unfortunately. Still, it was great to see it, even tho I didn't get to ride it. No Pinky photos there either. I did take a couple from the skywalk on the way over to the convention though. The skywalk is cool (Boston needs some of these!) and there's a pretty nice fountain type thing that you sort of walk through at one point. Here's Agito admiring it:
It was a long walk down to the end of the pier and a hot day.. I saw some people with a golf cart and some peope with segways... that may've been the only time I ever envied those particular forms of transportation!!
But finally I was at the convention and able to get into the dealer's room for some frantic shopping. Much to my surprise, there was a line waiting to get in!! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, the last day often features some good deals, and even if you can't get a great sale price, it's still your last chance to buy stuff before you go home! I did get some great deals - several rement sets for $3 each, a $3 figumate, some $1 pencil boards, $6 Pinky markers, buy one get one free manga... I really should've taken a picture of all my loot, but somehow I never did that. Maybe later...
