Ringo!

Ringo is hard to take pictures of, because the few times I try to move her, she has a tendency to fall to pieces. All Pinkys do this somewhat, but she's extra-bad! I guess her hair is just too heavy. Fortunately I have not managed to damage her, because who knows if I would be able to replace her!

I love this little vending machine toy too - all the little capsules come out, and open up and have little toys inside! It's awesome. I didn't put all the stickers on it tho, I like it better plain. But it's for Rockman. I guess these little capsule toy toys (ha) are not that rare, but I had never seen one before when I bought it and I had loads of fun playing with it. Amazingly, however, it's never made it into a photo until now...

oops, and I forgot to say that the curious george toy is pretty awesome too. The helmet is removable! Which is actually sort of annoying in practice, but the coolness factor makes me inclined to put up with it. I love little details like that.

Some Tohru photos!

I think these are actually too dark, unfortunately. All that blue together needed a bit more light! But I still think they came out mostly ok, so I figured I would post them anyway...

I love this background paper!! Which is fortunate, because I paid more than I should've for it... Ok, it was only $8, but that's more than I've ever paid for a piece of paper before. It's so cute tho. Fish!

And then I had to do this photo too. Kyo is the King of Cats!

(I have all these weird little cat pencil toppers. They're actually sort of freaky looking, because of the way their eyes are painted. I need to repaint the eyes, but I haven't had a chance yet. That's why they are all looking away... Tho it looks like they are staring at the fish, right?)

New England Flower Show

Recently Ten-chan (GoGo Moe) accompanied me to the New England Flower show.

"Wow! Look how big this place is!! It's almost a little scary!! But I guess any place with so many flowers in it can't really be scary...."

"There were lots of flowers to look at! I really loved that these flowers matched my barrettes! Unfortunately the lighting in the Expo center was sort of weird, and there were a lot of people around, so Nightfall had trouble setting up some of the shots. But even tho this photo is blurry, I still like it!"

"I'm blurry again here too, I'm afraid, but isn't the castle cool? It was just my size, but unfortunately I couldn't get close enough to stand right at the door! While Nightfall was trying to set up the shot, there was a small crowd of people watching her... I think she was a bit embarrassed. Hee hee. Poor Nightfall!"

"Here's a better shot of the castle. It would be fun to live in here and be a Princess..."

"Look, these flowers match my shirt!"

"There were a lot of really elaborate garden displays. They were sort of like parade floats almost, except of course they didn't move. This one was set up like a beach - with a lighthouse! There was even a fog machine that was set up to send out a puff of fog when the sound of waves crashing played. So it was just like being on the beach! Well, in truth, it really wasn't anything like being on the beach, but it was a nice try!"

"See? This is what the whole thing looked like. And there's the "wave" crashing!"

"Here's another display. Even though this is much simpler, I thought it was nice. And in the background, you can see a car, so that gives you an idea of how big everything was!"

"I liked this because it was a dragonfly! Dragonflies are so pretty. (Even if they are a little bit scary...)"

"Several of the displays had birds inside of them."

"These were some sort of Heron, I think. They were really pretty neat looking, but they didn't stand very still"

"There were also peacocks. They didn't spread out their tales tho, which was too bad!"

"And then there were these guys...."

"What are these?"

"In addition to the big "floats", there were also some cut flower arrangements..."

"And some jewelry made out of flowers and seeds (!)..."

"And some Bonsai trees. I really wanted Nightfall to take one of these home, because they are also a perfect size for me (and probably easier to fit into Nightfall's apartment), but she didn't think she was up to taking care of one of those. And besides, the kitties would probably eat it... Sigh."

"Also, near the door, there were some dioramas, and these sailor's valentines."

"Sailor's valentines are made of shells, and were an old New England art form."

"I had a really good time at the flower show, but my favorite thing was all the pink flowers!"

"Altho I do like the white flowers a lot too! Nightfall is very fond of white flowers."

"Nightfall also says that not ALL of her photos came out blurry. Just the ones with me, it seems like! I guess I must've been moving around too much. It was hard to stay still tho with so much to look at! But if you'd like to see some of Nightfall's pictures in focus, you can go to her Flickr page!"

A Christmas Date (re-post)

I've got a ton of St. Patrick's Day photos to post (well, they're green anyway!), but I thought I'd wait until the end of the week for that to be proper. In the meantime, I figured I would post my last photo story here. It's on the Pinky Street forum, but I really should probably post everything here too, just to consolidate... Actually, I take that back. I should post an *older* photo story first, or the one I was going to post won't make sense. So this one actually goes back to Christmas.

------

Arisu (Reina) and Hikaru (Rui) have quietly been a couple for a little while now. Meanwhile, Suu and the new transfer student Akito (Sakura.... I think?) have been developing feelings for each other.

One day Suu was selling cookies and hot chocolate to raise money for her after school club...

Akito came up to buy some cookies

And asked Suu if she'd like to go on a date on Christmas!

She said yes!

It was a double date with Arisu and Hikaru at the park. The four of them took a sleigh ride together

Hikaru gave Arisu a really lovely Christmas present

And... is that mistletoe?

Did Suu have her first kiss, or did she end up slapping Akito for being too forward?

....meanwhile, Ten-chan dreams only of seeing Kitty Claws

(this is supposed to look like her imagining Kitty Claws)

"He came! He came! Look at all the presents!!"

----

Later I added a postscript to the story.

Whether or not Akito got slapped, it looks like the date went well!

Some pictures of Mai from the King of Fighters set.

I really like how she looks in the cheerleader outfit. The outfit and the hair really suit her. She definitely seems like the sort of girl you don't want to mess with. At the same time, I hate to think of her as the mean girl in high school because she can look quite kind too. I don't know if the other picture shows that as well as it could, but I do like her in that hair too. In fact, she is one of the faces that looks good in almost everything. Like rui, her look is definitely very flexible.

On another note, I have started watching Tsukihime because I love Arc so much as a Pinky. Surprisingly, it seems like a pretty decent anime. I've seen just about half of it now and it's really very engaging. Unfortunately, it is a short series, which is too bad because I think I already really like the characters. Of course, I still need to watch the whole thing before I definitely know how I feel about it. Too many times the ending ruins a show. I will say I really love the opening theme tho. I may have to go buy the cd. But, more specifically about Arc - it's odd that her Pinky came with grey stocking legs - she doesn't wear grey stockings. And since I don't like those stockings, it really is too bad they went with those. Her skirt is also much shorter in the anime than it is on the Pinky, but that's not shocking. They haven't made any kneelength straight skirts for Pinkys yet and there's a limit to how many special pieces you get for a character Pinky. Watching the show really makes me wish I were good at customs tho. In the opening and close, Arc has long hair and wears a really cool dress. She also has gold eyes. I feel like long-haired gold-eyed arc in the long dress would be pretty darn cool. Alas, I don't have that kind of skill. I haven't even tried a straight repaint yet!

Ah well. I am looking forward to seeing the end of Tsukime. I would watch more now, but it's really bed time. If I'm not a good child now I will be sorry when I am at work tomorrow!

Oh, silly me. If I am going to talk about Arc and Mai, I really need to include the picture they are both in!
