Why is Rui so crabby?

Why is Rui so crabby?, originally uploaded by esmereldes.

Because *someone* has to walk the dog. Even at night. Even in the snow.

She might also be crabby because just before this shot, I lost her head in the snow for like 20 minutes!!!! Poor Rui! It wasn't because of the picture tho - she was in my bag, and during the walk from my car to my house - like 10 feet! - her head rolled out of the bag somehow!! I spent a scary time looking all over with a flashlight, hoping none of my neighbors thought I was a thief! I was really worried I'd never find her, and was feeling sad about the idea of her alone and bodiless and buried in the snow... :(
Fortunately tho, I did find her!!

Because even tho this house is adorable, she doesn't fit thru the door!!

I took this photo inside Michael's (a craft store). The little house is made of a sort of foam material. I wanted to buy it, but it didnt really make sense, since Rui didn't really fit inside... *sigh* I so want a dollhyouse, but
I just don't have space!!

Super Galactic Space Explorer Rui

Exploring the galaxy. Saving the universe. ;)

Rui is actually wearing Barbie sunglasses. They don't fit quite properly - th ear pieces stick way out in back. Also, they pop off most Pinky heads. They are staying on Rui because her front hair is holding them on. But I love that they magnify her eyes slightly!

Redheads in the Snow

During the last big snow (the one that turned into an ice storm and turned parking into a nightmare...), I took out a group of my Pinkys during the very early part of the snow (when it was still pretty!). I was actually on my way into work (no such thing as snow days when you're old...), so I stopped off along the way where my trip into work intersects the Charles River bike trail (near Watertown Sq.).

The next day I brought a slightly different group of Pinkys to work. This time my theme was "the redheads". Since there were a number of redheaded girls the previous day, I'm posting them all together under the same theme. I'm just giving out the extra explanation to explain what Mayura, Moe and Avril are doing here!

I'm not entirely satisfied with this second photo of Avril. I like the blue coat with her eyes, but her neck is a bit too long. Probably I shouldn't be pointing out flaws, in case they aren't noticed, but it bugs me every time I look at the photo. The problem with the ball-jointed headed new girls is that they don't fit into the old clothing the same - their necks are thicker. Ditto for trying to put old heads into new clothes. In truth, I am not totally distraught by this because at least the misfit is a result of an attempt to improve the design of the Pinky:St girls. There's plenty of pieces, however, that don't fit together well for no good reason at all. Oh well, minor grousing. It doesn't stop me one bit from buying more!

And now we switch to the following day. I took my girls over to a playground near my office. It was so slippery, I couldn't really walk very far. That should've been a sign to me...

It's a real close contest to me who looks better in Rebecca's hair - Bitter or Mayura. They both look pretty darn cute in it!

There were going to be more photos of Lisa and Sumire, but, unfortunately, there was a bit of a tragedy at this point in the photo shoot. Lisa fell, and instead of just falling into pieces, like Pinkys always do, her legs actually broke!!

The (only sort of) tragedy
I was pretty upset, but fortunately I was able to buy some replacement legs from another Pinky:St collector. Thank goodness! Lisa loves these legs. I now plan to eventually glue them back together and probably repaint them. I have a lot of repainting plans... It's sort of bad. I need to do some practice pieces soon, at least, so I can see if I can figure out the technique of making the paint look smooth...
